  • Upcoming Auction Reminders - We’ll give you a notification when an auction is about to go live. Never miss an auction again!

  • Win Notice/Pick-up Requests - You don't have to reach out to us after you've won items, we'll reach out to you through text or email to schedule your pick-up appointment.

  • Pick-up Reminders - You don't need to set alarms to remember your pick-up appointment, we'll remind you when it's time to grab your winnings on pick-up day!

  • Service Updates - Receive schedule changes or urgent service updates.

  • Special Deals/Promotions - You're already saving money, but who wouldn't want more with our special deals and promotions.

  • Feedback and Reviews - We strive for perfection, but we know we're not there yet. Help us with occasional feedback and feature reviews.

You can opt-out at any time from one or more of these message types (see Section 6). Message frequency varies. Standard message & data rates may apply. Participation is voluntary, and you may withdraw consent at any time.

2. Information We Collect

  • Identifiers - Mobile phone number, name. Provided by you during opt-in (website form, checkout, or keyword reply).

  • Transaction Data - Auction ID, item(s) won, appointment date/time. Generated when you bid, win, or schedule pick-ups.

  • Usage Data - Message delivery logs, opt-in/opt-out status, interaction timestamps. Automatically collected by our SMS provider.

We do not solicit or knowingly collect sensitive personal information (e.g., Social Security numbers) through SMS.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To deliver requested SMS reminders & service notices. Based on your consent (opt-in).

  • Send limited marketing offers & promotions. Based on your consent (opt-in).

  • Improve messaging relevance and performance. Based on an interest in service optimization (opt-in).

  • Detect or prevent fraud and abuse. Based on a legitimate interest & legal compliance.

  • Fulfill legal obligations & dispute resolution. Required by applicable law.

4. Sharing & Disclosure

We will not share, sell, or rent your mobile number or opt-in data to an SMS short code campaign with a third party for purposes unrelated to supporting you in connection with that campaign. We may share your Personal Data with third parties that help us provide the messaging service, including, but not limited to, platform providers, phone companies, and other vendors who assist us in the delivery of text messages.

We may disclose the Personal Data to our affiliates or subsidiaries; however, if we do so, their use and disclosure of your Personal Data will be subject to this Policy. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

We share only as necessary:

  • Service Providers – Our SMS platform and cloud-hosting or analytics vendors that process data on our behalf under confidentiality agreements.

  • Legal Compliance – Government authorities or other parties when required to satisfy applicable laws, regulations, subpoenas, or court orders.

  • Business Transfers – In connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, where permitted by law. The SMS Privacy Policy will be maintained.

5. Your Choices

  • Reply "MENU" to get a menu of all available options.

  • Reply "STOP ALL" to opt-out of all future SMS messages.

  • Reply "STOP" to opt-out of some SMS messages. You will be presented with a menu of options you can opt-out from. Reply with "STOP #" where "#" is replaced with the number from the menu that you wish to opt out, while retaining other SMS messages.

  • Reply "PICK-UP" or "PICKUP" to schedule an appointment to pick up your winnings. You will then be prompted to select an appointment date and time.

  • Reply "CANCEL" to cancel your upcoming appointment.

  • Reply "RESCHEDULE" to cancel and reschedule your upcoming appointment.

  • Reply "FEEDBACK", "REVIEW", or "SUGGESTION", followed by your message, to give us positive or negative feedback.

  • Reply "SEARCH" followed by a keyword of the item you’re looking for, and we will tell you how many items match the search criteria you provided.

  • Reply "HELP", followed by your message, and our support team will respond to your issue.

 

All opt-out requests are processed immediately or within 24 hours, as required by CTIA Messaging Principles and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA). If you are unable to opt-out by SMS, you can also email "info@youbid-auctions.com" with your request.

6. Data Retention

SMS records are retained only as long as needed for:

  1. Providing requested services (e.g., auction reminders, pick-up confirmations)

  2. Legitimate business purposes (billing, dispute resolution)

  3. Compliance with applicable laws

When retention is no longer necessary, data is securely deleted or anonymized.

We and our providers employ reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards—such as TLS encryption in transit and restricted system access—to protect SMS-related data against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access.

Our auctions and SMS services are intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect or send SMS to children under 18. If we become aware of such data, we will delete it promptly.
